Embarq email settings for Android

Android guide to setup Embarq mail

1 Open your Email application from the menu, add a new account and choose 'Other'.

If you do not have an account yet, you can start setting up right away. Otherwise, open 'Settings' in the email app and choose 'Add account'.

2 In the next screen enter your account details and click on 'Login':

Email: your Embarq email address
Password: your Embarq email password

3 Choose pop3 and enter the following details under 'Server incoming mail':

pop3 server: pop.embarqmail.com
Security type: ssl
Port: 995

4 Your account is now ready to use.

Congratulations, your account is now set up. Open the email app on your smartphone to use your email.

I've been trying to add my email to my android phone for 3 days. Two other people have tried also. We have followed the above directions but still unable to connect to server. We have also talked with a representative but still can not connect.. Where can I get help? Questions are listed on your site but no answers.

after I purchased this phone handset up my embarq mail account from day one I have been bombarded with emails from every type of company that I have no desire to hear from. Besides marking my daily emails Spam what can I do to stop this short of getting rid of my Emaarq email account. I do not have time to unsubscribe from everyone of them when I never sought to hear from them in the first place. Help!!!
