Set up iPhone AT&T

1 Choose settings

2 Scroll down and choose Mail, Contacts and Calendars

3 Tap Add account and select Other

4 Tap Add Mail Account and enter the following information:

Name: your name
Email: your AT&T email-address
Password: your AT&T email-password
Description: enter "AT&T"

5 Choose imap under incoming mail server and enter the following information:

Hostname: imap.mai.att.net
Username: email
Password: your email-password

6 Scroll down and under outgoing mail server, enter the following information:

Hostname: smtp.mail.att.net
Username: email
Password: your email-password

7 Tap save and in select your emailadress in the next screen.

8 Scroll down and under outgoing mail server choose SMTP.

9 Under Main server select smtp.mail.att.net and make sure the following information is displayed:

SSL: ssl
Serverport: 465

10 Tap done and go to the previous screen. Choose Advanced and make sure the following information is correct:

SSL: ssl
Serverport: imap.mai.att.net

11 Again, go back to the previous screen. Restart your iPhone to finish the setup!

  • ATT locked my account then I tried to change password, kept getting message "CANNOT GET MAIL - the user name or password for imap.mail.att.net is incorrect. Finally just deleted my email account. Still get that message when I try to set it up again. These instructions don't exactly match my iPhone 6.
