Yet GTT still bills us every month. How can I get that stopped?
5 years agoAccording to Sonic's domain transfer tool, the domain, COVAD.NET, appears to be locked. It seems like a reasonable request to benefit the public for GTT to un-lock or otherwise allow the domain to be transferred so that users communications and addresses are not severed for another week. I'm not holding my breath, given their draconian action last week and the feeble state of the FCC to protect public interests.
5 years agoGTT Communications picked a good time to discontinue this service. I went to the FCC web site. It looks like the FCC Consumer Complaint Center is not accepting accepting complaints at this time due to the U.S. Government shutdown.
5 years agoWe have an email at Covad.net It stopped working without warning on 1/8/19 after continuous service since 2005. Now all our emails are being bounced. The message says that the "User's mailbox is disabled" This means that the Covad.net email server is still working. They have just disabled the mail boxed. They should turn the service back on for a few days to let us get emails and transfer to new service like gmail.
5 years agoI called GTT support who now had the Covad domain. They said they no longer are providing email hosting and have discontinued the service. They further said that had notified me in advance, which they did not. It's a mess and many users like us appear impacted.
5 years agoI too lost the ability to reach the mail.covad.net server on 1/8/19 after continuous service since 2004.. My understanding was that Global Capacity was obligated by the FCC to maintain the covad server as part of the ยง63.71 Application in 2016 by Global Capacity.
