Mediacom email settings for iPhone

iPhone guide to setup Mediacom mail

1 Open 'Settings', click on 'Passwords & accounts' and 'Add account'.

Click on your provider name if it's listed, otherwise click on 'Other'

2 Choose 'Add mail account', and enter the following information:

Name: your own name
Email: your Mediacom email address
Password: your Mediacom email password
Description: a personal description

3 Choose pop3 and enter the following details under 'Incoming mail server':

Hostname: mail.mediacombb.net
Username: your Mediacom email address
Password: your Mediacom email password

4 Under 'Outgoing mail server' enter the details below and choose 'next':

Hostname: mail.mediacombb.net
Username: your Mediacom email address
Password: your Mediacom email password

5 Make sure 'Email' is checked and click 'Save'.

Your email account is now saved. In the next steps we check if all settings are correct.

6 Click on your newly created email address and choose 'Advanced'. Make sure that the following data is correct under 'Incoming server':

Use SSL: on
Identity check: password
Server port: 995

7 Go back to the previous screen and under 'Outgoing server' click on mail.mediacombb.net. Make sure the following information is correct:

Use SSL: on
Identity check: password
Server port: 465

8 Choose 'Done' at the top right and restart the iPhone to activate the settings.

Congratulations, your account is now set up. Open the mail app to use your account.

  • I got a new iPhone in July and my Mediacom email never transferred over. I’ve tried several times to sign in to Mediacom on my laptop and sometimes my password works other times not. Now i’m Locked out. I looked up the process of adding the Mediacom email to my phone and I get the same result that my password is incorrect. I write my passwords down so I know it’s correct. I see in this forum that I am not alone in this mess. What’s going on?

  • email not working, I have now stumped 3 Apple tech support/guru people and still no email on my iPhone I see that outgoing email should be SMTP.mediacombb.net, SSL-On, Port 587 some state Port 465? A number of times I have deleted the account reset it up and find the Port changes to 25? Any Ideas solutions, I think I talked with Mediacom support and they made comment that the account will lock up if three unsuccessful attempts to log in are made, so how do you have time to change all passwords on a Macbook and iPhone ?
