Set up iPhone Surewest

1 Choose settings

2 Scroll down and choose Mail, Contacts and Calendars

3 Tap Add account and select Other

4 Tap Add Mail Account and enter the following information:

Name: your name
Email: your Surewest email-address
Password: your Surewest email-password
Description: enter "Surewest"

5 Choose pop3 under incoming mail server and enter the following information:

Hostname: pop.surewest.net
Username: email
Password: your email-password

6 Scroll down and under outgoing mail server, enter the following information:

Hostname: smtpauth.surewest.net
Username: email
Password: your email-password

7 Tap save and in select your emailadress in the next screen.

8 Scroll down and under outgoing mail server choose SMTP.

9 Under Main server select smtpauth.surewest.net and make sure the following information is displayed:

SSL: ssl
Serverport: 587

10 Tap done and go to the previous screen. Choose Advanced and make sure the following information is correct:

SSL: none
Serverport: pop.surewest.net

11 Again, go back to the previous screen. Restart your iPhone to finish the setup!

  • In Step 7, no other screen comes up after tapping Save. I've attempted several ways, and the end result is mail coming into the box, but not able to reply, and no other folders (Sent, etc) are available. Msg reads: Cannot Connect Using SSL, Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL? No returns me to setup. Yes populates Inbox, with no ability to reply. My work number is (916) 781-4706 if you have a tech who can help me through this. FYI, all was working until last week when I changed my password for my email.
