Android guide to setup Optonline.net mail
1 Open your Email application from the menu, add a new account and choose 'Other'.
If you do not have an account yet, you can start setting up right away. Otherwise, open 'Settings' in the email app and choose 'Add account'.
2 In the next screen enter your account details and click on 'Login':
Email: your Optonline.net email address
Password: your Optonline.net email password
3 Choose imap and enter the following details under 'Server incoming mail':
imap server: mail.optonline.net
Security type: ssl
Port: 993
4 Your account is now ready to use.
Congratulations, your account is now set up. Open the email app on your smartphone to use your email.

My Samsung was set up for POP3 and does not sync to my computer. I want to change it to IMAP, but there is no option to change the POP3. How can I do that?

I'm still getting the error message, "Couldn't Open Connection to Server". No matter how many of these forums I follow, my phone will simply NOT add my optonline emails. They used to be on this phone, but they were acting up so i was told to remove them then add them again and that was the last time I was able to see emails on my phone.

Why when deleting emails from my computer web based optonline email account, the emails still stay on my phones optimum samsung s9 emails.? . shouldn't they both delete

Email setup fails on Samsung Gallaxy S9, cannot verify account. I have followed all the instructions above.

Suddenly I received an error message saying my PW had been changed and I had to enter my new PW to access my emails on my cell. I DID NOT change my PW. Now I don't have access to new emails on my cell.
