Android guide to setup Cox mail

1 Open your Email application from the menu, add a new account and choose 'Other'.

If you do not have an account yet, you can start setting up right away. Otherwise, open 'Settings' in the email app and choose 'Add account'.

2 In the next screen enter your account details and click on 'Login':

Email: your Cox email address
Password: your Cox email password

3 Choose pop3 and enter the following details under 'Server incoming mail':

pop3 server: pop.cox.net
Security type: none
Port: 110

4 Your account is now ready to use.

Congratulations, your account is now set up. Open the email app on your smartphone to use your email.

  • Also, when I click on a "+" button on this page, nothing happens except that I get a little window stating, "Bedankt voor uw stem". WHAT IS THAT???

  • Cannot connect using these instructions. The chat person - "Camille" - was of no help whatsoever. Her grammar was horrible, too. Please get valid information and Americans to answer the chat requests.

  • I give you a MINUS ONE. I'm trying to set up my cox.net email address via IMAP on my new android phone with no luck. You say "On this page you'll find the Cox mail settings for Android. Besides an overview with the imap and pop3 server mail settings for Cox, we offer you a comprehensive guide for setting up your Cox email on a Android device." and then the settings shown only apply to POP3. Where are the IMAP settings? Someone in the U.S. who speaks American English should QA these instructions before they go live on your site. Other errors in grammar and instructions exist but not going to waste my time doing your job for you.

  • These instrucitons did not work on my new Googel Pixel phone The names of the menu boxes on my phone set-up are different than this web page, this is extremely frustrating. I question if ' email' is correct, the phone gives and example and it is the text before the '@' in an email address

  • Hi I just upgraded to a new phone and will not let me set my email to penfolds@cox.net. I've been online and followed instructions on setting the pop3 and setting the port numbers but will not allow access.
