iPhone guide to setup Cox Business mail

5 Choose 'Add mail account', and enter the following information:

Name: your own name
Email: your Cox Business email address
Password: your Cox Business email password
Description: a personal description

6 Choose imap and enter the following details under 'Incoming mail server':

Hostname: imap.coxmail.net
Username: your Cox Business email address
Password: your Cox Business email password

7 Under 'Outgoing mail server' enter the details below and choose 'next':

Hostname: smtp.coxmail.net
Username: your Cox Business email address
Password: your Cox Business email password

8 Choose 'Done' at the top right and restart the iPhone to activate the settings.

Congratulations, your account is now set up. Open the mail app to use your account.

I am unable to send an email. Message says server can’t send from my email address and sends my messages to the outbox

I determined that iPhone and Android access to our business email accounts requires the IMAP and SMTP hostnames to end in COM rather than NET. This article says to use NET.
