Outlook guide to setup Verizon (Yahoo!) mail

1 Start Outlook, click the File tab and click in the category information Account Settings

2 Click in the tab Email on New.

3 Switch on Server Settings and click Next.

4 Select Internet Email Addresses, click Next and enter the following data among user data:

Your name: Your full name.
Email Address: your Verizon (Yahoo!) email address.

5 In the box Type Account below Server Information, select pop3 and fill out the following information:

Incoming e-mail:
Incoming port: 995

Outgoing e-mail:
Outgoing port: 465

6 Under Login Information fill in the following settings:

E-mail: your Verizon (Yahoo!) email-adress
Password: your Verizon (Yahoo!) email-password

Login with security: ssl

7 Click on Test Account Settings. If all goes well, click next and then finish.

  • Similar to the other complaints, Outlook email collection stopped working on all of our computers as of 3/18/20 pm. My home business consists of 4 different Dell PCs running Windows 7 & Windows 10 and 2 different Ipads. All fail in exactly the same way. My wife and I both have separate email addresses that we've had since 2007. On a positive note, we can both collect our individual emails using the Yahoo website via Chrome or Explorer however it is a workaround for now and not a long term solution. We need to use Outlook so emails are retained/created within our home network as our business relies on Outlook's email functionality. I've gone thru all of the settings Yahoo suggests but nothing helps. Please help us fix this, Thanks.

  • i got my primary outlook acct to work by logging in to yahoo, account info, account security, manage app password, select your app ( i selected outlook but it returned android) but it did work. copy password yahoo generates into your outlook password fields and it worked. It did NOT work on my iphone or ipad

  • Yahoo verizon folks...need host names for imap , pop servers... no connectvity. Work beautifully until 03/15...... need something here. Please assist.

  • None of the devices (iPad, iPhone or my HP Windows Laptop) I use to send and receive email are able to receive my verizion/yahoo email. Has there been changes to port, SSL/TLS, or POP settings?

  • My wife is having the same problem with her email. Start for her on Tuesday 3/17/20. I have tried different email clients. It did not work. The only way to get the mail is via the Yahoo website. SMH

  • My email suddently stopped working 3/18/20 pm. Coincidental? I wasn't prompted to change, just asked me to enter it. WHen it didn't take, I tried to delete and re-add account. to no avail. I have a verizon email account (now since retired) that makes it even moredifficult...any ideas to solve?

  • esterday, I was prompted on yahoo to change my email password for my verizon account. Now, since changing my password on yahoo, I am unable to retrieve or send messages in Outlook. . I did change my password in my account settings in Outlook and I receive the message that the password is rejected. What do I have to do to resolve this issue?

  • Since the morning of Thursday March 19 email in Thunderbird does not go out or come in. I have the settings as above on this page (used them already for quit a while). "cannot connect wit server "" is the message. Anyone has same problems?
