Charter email settings for Android

Android guide to setup Charter mail

1 Open your Email application from the menu, add a new account and choose 'Other'.

If you do not have an account yet, you can start setting up right away. Otherwise, open 'Settings' in the email app and choose 'Add account'.

2 In the next screen enter your account details and click on 'Login':

Email: your Charter email address
Password: your Charter email password

3 Choose imap and enter the following details under 'Server incoming mail':

imap server: mobile.charter.net
Security type: ssl
Port: 993

4 Your account is now ready to use.

Congratulations, your account is now set up. Open the email app on your smartphone to use your email.

From Android phone; will not send attachments. Followed instructions on this site. Sent test message with no attachment, sent immediately. Tried again to same email, address with attachment, failure. Also, tried to send test from cell phone, Android email to laptop email (identical email address, never a problem before) and failure."SocketTimeoutException. This issue happened all of a sudden, never had a problem sending attachments. Can you help.

This does not work on LG G4 with IMAP4 it worked fine on my LG Sunset IMAP.. There is a ? mark on 1st line wich does not go away after entering "mobile.charter.net". Please advise

I forgot my password for my charter.net account and I need to get into it as my Facebook account is hooked up to it. I don't have the correct zip code. It was originally set up in zip code 49919 by Colleen Seaver.
