Android guide to setup Charter mail

1 Open your Email application from the menu, add a new account and choose 'Other'.

If you do not have an account yet, you can start setting up right away. Otherwise, open 'Settings' in the email app and choose 'Add account'.

2 In the next screen enter your account details and click on 'Login':

Email: your Charter email address
Password: your Charter email password

3 Choose% type% and enter the following details under 'Server incoming mail':

imap server: mobile.charter.net
Security type: ssl
Port: 993

4 At 'Outgoing mail server' enter the details below and choose 'Login':

SMTP server: mobile.charter.net
Security type: ssl
Port: 587

Verification for sending email: yes

Username: email
Password: your Charter email password

5 Your account is now ready to use.

Congratulations, your account is now set up. Open the email app on your smartphone to use your email.

  • All of a sudden, my outgoing mail is giving me server errors. Can't connect to server. I've went through the same steps you've listed numerous times. I've deleted several times to start completely over. Passwords, email, username hasn't changed.
