Android guide to setup Charter mail

1 Open your Email application from the menu, add a new account and choose 'Other'.

If you do not have an account yet, you can start setting up right away. Otherwise, open 'Settings' in the email app and choose 'Add account'.

2 In the next screen enter your account details and click on 'Login':

Email: your Charter email address
Password: your Charter email password

3 Choose imap and enter the following details under 'Server incoming mail':

imap server: mobile.charter.net
Security type: ssl
Port: 993

4 Your account is now ready to use.

Congratulations, your account is now set up. Open the email app on your smartphone to use your email.

I am trying to set up my husband's charter email on his new Android phone. I have entered everything like listed above. I will not connect to server and verify his account.

I do everything that you are instructing me to do, my passwords are right, exchange is correct. Is it my phone that is stupid, or is it your end. i have never had so much problems setting up an email. i don't understand why it has to be so damn complicated.

Outgoing email will not send from Samsung Android phone. When outgoing port is set to 587 the security changes to TSL, if security is set to SSL then port automatically reverts to 465. Outgoing mail sits in Outbox with or without an internet connection.

I need help with my server settings for outgoing email. When i set security at ssl the port changes to 465. If I change it to 587, then security changes to tsl. I can't get it set at ssl 587 as shown on charters website for android.
